“I think prayer is, for the most part, simply reminders in your daily practice. So, the verses look like prayers, but are actually reminders of how to speak, how to deal with other problems, other people, things like that in daily life. For the most part, I think my practice is reviewing: compassion, forgiveness, and, of course, shunyata.” ~ His Holiness the Dalai Lama
Our Sangha gatherings always start with “Raising the Bodhicitta” when we set the intention to offer our study and practice for the welfare of others. Part of this process is speaking the names of those who are in need of help and healing, as well as those who have passed away.
We do this not only in our Saturday class but also in our weekday meditations. Over time we have received names of loved ones to add to our Prayer List. At this time we would like to expand this offering by inviting sangha members to send the first name and last initial (if you like) to our newly created Prayer List email address. Please note if this is an illness or passing.
